The modern GOP are not conservative, they have been on their anti govt rants since Reagan but these days are trying to destroy the government that helped create the middle class. They do not believe in traditional conservative values-small govt/govt staying out of our private lives/a balanced budget.
These are radicals trying to destroy any oversight or help for the middle class.
We tried it their way.
We tried letting the lobbyists run government(George W Bush) and they almost created a new depression. All they had to do was a good job and they would still be in power.
To them destroying govt was a good job. Katrina wasn't incompetence, it was their ideology(no help for the poor) at work. To them after the poor were moved to other states it became a great real estate opportunity.
Now...
They have been blocking everything the democrats have done in the senate. The recent extension of unemployment was blocked over 80 times. Over 100 house bills cannot come up in the senate to be voted on because they have been blocked.
We need to change the rules so 55 votes are needed just to have a vote.
